Founded: 1924
Profile: Established by Kakuzo Yokoyama in 1924 as both a sake brewery and shochu distillery, the brewery is currently represented by fourth generation Yuzo Yokoyama. In 2018 the new sake brewery was built and the sake production was revived for the first time in 30 years. Chingu Iki Barley Shochu and Yokoyama Junmai Daiginjo are the two flagship products of the brewery. With the motto of “Sake Brewing comes from Agriculture”, the brewery only uses top-quality rice and barley from contracted farmers. Their aim is to express Iki Island's charm not only to Japan but also to the world through their sake and shochu.
