Zoo Zutto Asahiyama Junmai Cup Set
Zoo Zutto Asahiyama Junmai Cup Set
Class: Junmai
Rice: Hokkaido Rice
Rice-Polishing Ratio: 60%
Brewery Location: Hokkaido
Food Pairings: This sake pairs well with subtle, light dishes, enhancing the flavors of the ingredients (e.g. tempura, sashimi, etc.)
Tasting Notes: An official collaboration with the Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido, the northernmost prefecture of Japan. The zoo's popular animals are depicted on cups of sake in three separate themes: “Tundra” (animals of the arctic frozen plain), “Hokkaido” (animals of the northern land) and "Savanna” (animals of the tropical grassland). The fun cups were designed by Asahikawa-based artist Michiko Abe. The aroma is gentle and mild while the flavor has a firm richness and umami from rice. Turn the cup as you drink and enjoy the overlapping design and depth created by the sake and the graphic art! Each case contains 30 cups -- 10 sets of each of the three designs.
