This lively yet elegant Sunday afternoon event brought together approximately ten vendors, each showcasing some of the most distinctive selections from their portfolios. MTC was proud to present Kikunosato Daina Chokara Junmai, Haneya Tokubetsu Junmai, Ryujin “Bull Rider” Junmai Daiginjo, and Amabuki “Banana Kobo” Junmai Daiginjo.
The goal was to feature labels and flavor profiles that resonate with both Japanese and American palates. Kikunosato and Haneya highlighted drier, more delicate nuances, while Ryujin and Amabuki delivered bold, full-bodied expressions.
Talented chefs elevated the experience with an impressive spread of hors d’oeuvres, including hamachi sashimi, shiso crab hand rolls, caviar, pork shoulder skewers, and bacon hash brown bites. The atmosphere was enhanced by creative 1920s-inspired attire, a live jazz band, and beautiful, sunny San Diego weather.
