KYOTO
Kizakura Beer Creations
Kizakura has been brewing its craft beer, Kyoto Beer, since 1995. Drawing on the skills and dedication cultivated through its long tradition of sake brewing, the company brought that same commitment to the world of microbrewed beer. As the oldest craft beer brewery in Kyoto—and one of the region’s largest sake producers—Kizakura creates beers with flavors deeply rooted in Japanese culture. Their unique brews incorporate high-quality, locally inspired ingredients such as Kyoto matcha, yuzu, sake yeast, Yamadanishiki (the "king of sake rice"), and black beans. The use of Fushimizu, the famously soft water of Fushimi, gives their beers a characteristically mild and smooth finish. Through Kyoto Beer, Kizakura hopes to bring customers closer to the spirit of Japan and spark a deeper appreciation for its culture.
