KURAMBON WINERY
Brewery: Kurambon Wine Co., Ltd.
Founded: 1913
The name “Kurambon” comes from a mysterious word spoken by a crab in Kenji Miyazawa’s fairy tale “Yamanashi”. The winery chose it in tribute to Miyazawa’s themes of harmony with nature, the limits of science, and compassion.
Kurambon Wine embodies the balance between Katsunuma’s vineyards and nature, built through collaboration with the local community. Its goal is to make regional grapes like Koshu and Muscat Bailey A a familiar part of daily meals and Japanese food culture

Tasting Notes
This wine features elegant aromas of dried plum, cassis, licorice, blueberry, and cranberry, with hints of black pepper and mint. Barrel aging adds subtle notes of mocha and cacao. On the palate, concentrated fruit flavors are supported by well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. A touch of bitterness adds a pleasant accent, and the aromas expand beautifully in the mouth.
